The starting point for the Instituut Nederlandse Kwaliteit (Netherlands Quality Institute - INK) management model is that every organisation strives to be amongst the best in its own market segment or field of work, and therefore wants to excel. In order to learn to excel, companies go through a staged development. Determining the position using the INK management model gives insight into the 'maturity' of your business, expressed in four dimensions. The four dimensions give a broadening of the system boundaries from micro to macro each time: from the activity to the process, the organisation and the chain.
